Dear Friends and Families of The Arc of Somerset County,
As 2022 comes to a close, The Arc of Somerset County is directing work toward immediate improvements to our Children’s Services program facility - The Jerry Davis Center for Children and Families. This year, our focused priority need for financial assistance is the repair and renovation of our Jerry Davis Center Playground.
For the children we serve, it is imperative that we continue to provide safe, licensed environments at all times, in all aspects of our program and facilities. This upcoming work will include the replacement of our required soft-surface playground material - showing its age after many years of enthusiastic use. The installation will include improvements of seams to our hardscape surfaces to maintain barrier-free movement and ensure many years of soft landings as our students of all abilities enjoy the fresh air and integrated play – elements we consider vital to the emotional, social and physical development of the children we support.
A level of funding has been established for this purpose at a goal of $20,000 and we look to our neighbors, friends and families to help support this need for the children in our community.
